'Video production' is one phrase for three jobs. Pre-production is the planning: the brief, the script or interview questions, the shot list, the location and the schedule. Production is the shoot day itself - camera, lighting, sound, direction. Post-production is everything after: the edit, colour, sound mix, graphics and the export in whatever formats you need.

A production company sells all three as one package. A freelance videographer usually sells the middle one and some of the third. The price gap is not small.
